Introducing Automatic 3D Modelling and Simulation for Cavity Filters

We are striving to enable aspiring microwave filter designers with better, faster, and easier design workflows. We believe that our latest release is one step towards that vision.

The engineering team at SynMatrix have recently released a new 3D modelling function that is integrated into the SynMatrix-Ansys HFSS design workflow. It includes single resonator modelling and analysis, adjacent and input/ouput coupling modelling and analysis, and customized full 3D modelling generation.

The latest upcoming release includes support for the following filter applications:

  • Coaxial Cavity
  • Rectangular waveguide (coming soon)
  • Cylindar waveguide (coming soon)


Resonator analysis and synthesis support
  • Supports various cavity resonators with different shapes, frequency and Q analysis, dimension synthesis, mode chart (waveguides), temperature drift analysis, and one-click auto-modelling

Coupling Schemes

SynMatrix supports FOUR major coupling schemes and up to 42 different geometries. SynMatrix also support key variable parametric analysis and one-click auto-modelling:

I/O Schemes

SynMatrix supports THREE major coupling schemes and up to NINE different geometries. SynMatrix also support key variable parametric analysis and one-click auto-modelling:

3D Model Generation

SynMatrix's latest release also supports automatic 3D model generation from a user defined topology. It will also support generic modelling with different rotation angles, and all parameters can be passed to the SynMatrix optimizer in the same, integrated SynMatrix-Ansys HFSS workflow.
